It
is one week later and I am finally getting around to blogging. Two days after we got home, Charlton had his 14th birthday. The next day the children decided we needed to "Get a little Christmas, right this very minute", and we had a field trip a couple days later. Add to that jet lag, transitioning everyone together as a family, and trying to find food that Joy will like, we've been in survival mode.
But our Welcome Home was wonderful! Amy's parents, sister and family (they even took the kids out of school!), and Uncle Ken came to welcome us home. I think there were 5 Welcome home posters. Dad worked out a shuttle home plan, since there were a number of people, and bags, to get back home.
Max decided to have a frozen yogurt trip to "Menchies" since Joy is a sucker for ice cream.
Finally, we had tearful goodbyes (especially for the girls) to Uncle Ken. They had a dream visit with Uncle Ken, Aunt Pam and cousin Kate during the second week we were in China. (Of course the first week was great with Grandma and Grandpa, starting out at the snowy Lake Arrowhead cabin, then in Culver city...it's just that they get to see Grandma and Grandpa more often).
