First meeting at the orphanage

Max explained that the first meeting in the orphanage conference room went very well. Here is what he wrote: "Hi everyone, I am sooooo tired right now that I can't make much commentary on the meeting. I will try tomorrow morning if possible. Everything went great.
All three girls are doing great (I will explain more about the other girls later). It was strange at first to meet face to face with these girls that we have prayed for and only seen in pictures.

By the way, this orphanage has about 600 children from newborn to 14. It is a huge operation, and they are doing a great job. They really care about these kids.

All girls were quiet at first. Once we visited for a couple of hours, then headed out to dinner, they really became animated and were talking and
laughing all the time. "

At home in California we waited until everyone was out of bed so that we could look at the pictures together. The siblings were so happy to see pictures of their sister with their Daddy. The girls squealed with delight when they saw Joy had put on the Pepperdine shirt they'd picked to match the ones they own. All siblings ached to be in China with the rest of their family.

  1. Amy,

I dreamt about you two nights in a row. I can't remember last night's dream anymore, but the night before last I dreamed that I was a teen foster child in your house and I was so happy to have you for a mom. You are such a warm, kind, charming woman and mother and your whole family is an inspiration and encouragement to me. I'm so inspired to watch the story of Joy's adoption unfolding. Joy is blessed to be joining such a caring family.

    Blessings,
    Aimee

  2. Wow. I LOVE the pic of Joy in the Pepperdine t-shirt-that's my favorite. This is so exciting!
