Wednesday: Fudan University and Entrepreneurial Dinner with Chai Lei

Wednesday was a full day at Fudan University. Students received more holistic instruction about the business environment and history in China. Here you see the entrance to the university educating over 40,000 students. Their time fellowshipping with the University leadership included lunch.

Max realizes how beneficial this education is for him personally (in addition to his students). He understands so much more about business in China, and the cultural differences for even his clients in California. Finally he identifies how this helps him understand even more the transition Joy will go through when she comes home to live with us.

That night students enjoyed the highlight of hearing Chai Lei speak. He is known as the King of Franchising, and is in his early 30s. He started a restaurant franchise of a local Chinese specialty food. It has grown to 5000 franchises in China, and he is written up in magazines. His goal in US is to have 1000 restaurants and to be employing 10,000 people - three years from now. Max was so grateful that his friend's sister, Amy, was able to translate for the evening's presentation.
